It takes the duration of 5.5 years for the completion of the degree.
The students, who have cleared the 10+2 examination with Physics, Chemistry and Biology with a minimum of 50% marks (for GENERAL) & 45% (for SC/ST) can apply for MBBS degree course and student’s age should be between 17 years to 25 years.

Management Quota Admission in Kempegowda Institute of Medical Sciences
Kempegowda Institute of Medical Sciences has achieved an esteemed position by receiving a recognition from the Medical Council of India (MCI), New Delhi, for offering MBBS Course since 1980-81. And also, from General Medical Council, United Kingdom, World Health Organization, The Royal College of Obstetrics and Gynaecologists, London. Kempegowda Institute of Medical Sciences has two campuses, both are located in Bangalore only. Pre-clinical and para clinical departments are situated in Banashankari and the other clinical departments and KIMS hospital are situated in K.R. Road.
To get enrolled into this college the candidates must have passed 12th degree examination in physics, chemistry and biology with a minimum score of 50% from a government recognised board. Admission into this college is made through an entrance examination that is held every year by the Karnataka government – Common Entrance Test (CET) only for the students of Karnataka or those who have Karnataka domicile. There is another entrance exam that is held every year- COMEDK which is conducted by the Consortium of Pvt Medical colleges of Karnataka- this exam is for the students of the other states and country seeking admission into this college.
Admission through Management Quota in Kempegowda Institute of Medical Sciences 2018
The total intake is 150 seats out of which 40% seats (60 seats) are filled by the students who obtain a preferred rank in the CET exam and another 40% seats (60 seats) are occupied by the students who clear the COMEDK examination. The remaining 15% seats (22 seats) are reserved for the NRI quota and other 5% (8 seats) comes under the management/institutional quota. Direct admission is through management quota only. The fee structure of each category is different.
